‘Skool Every Girl Nigeria’ is an initiative deeply rooted in the principles of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). Our mission is to facilitate learning opportunities that help to unlock the full potential of every girl in Nigeria, through the advancement of knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes that transcend traditional education boundaries. In a world grappling with environmental challenges, economic complexities, and the pursuit of justice, leveraging ESD embedded learning serves as a pivotal pathway to empower learners to make informed decisions and take responsible actions.
Prioritizing ESD as an integral part of quality education enables the nurturing of a lifelong learning process for learners of all ages. More than imparting knowledge, it instills a profound sense of responsibility, encouraging individuals to become agents of positive transformation in their communities.
In order to make the shift to an inclusive and sustainable future, we need to rethink what, where and how we learn to develop the knowledge, skills, values and attitudes that enable us all to make informed decisions and take individual and collective action on local, national and global urgencies.
